Describing Colour
  • Bold
  • Vibrant
  • Stain
  • Dye
  • Shade
  • Bright
  • Dull
  • Tone
There are certain words which would be able to describe different colours.

In certain images like the one above colour can draw your eyes to one part of the image. The bright blue eyes make you notice the image more than an ordinary face would. I believe that by using colour in different ways you can capture more interesting photos.

In the image above the colour of the flower has been highlighted by changing the rest of the photo into black and white. This technique is called selective colour, I find that by using this technique it might lights the unique colours within an image.

This image has captured the colours of which the building has. I think that by adding some colour it makes photographs stand out more compared to others for example if this image was instead of a plain building with no colour not as many people may look at it as they may see it as boring, where as by showing this colour it gives the image more appeal.

I really like this image and how the crayons stand out on the black and white background. The way colour has been selected and made to stand out interested me and creates a strong focus on the coloured crayons.
