Straight Prints- Multiple Imagery

Work Diary- Multiple Imagery

Evaluation
I really like how multiple imagery looks as a finial piece. I think that it is a very interesting technique and can be used in different ways and used to create different effects.

I like how this image looks and how the center one looks like a sun rising. I think that by using multiple imagery for these particular images it gave them a more of an appeal.

I Like how these images have been put together in a way which could also reflect contrast between the people and there ages. This is my favorite image for multiple imagery and I think that my going in the studio and doing this it created a interesting a different image compared to the ones I shoot in location.

Progression
If I was to continue with multiple imagery I would like to try more zoomed in images of peoples face although I think this would be challenging and take time in taking them I think it could create some interesting pictures.

Image Bank- Multiple Imagery

Multiple imagery I shown by the joining of images to create a new image. the ways above show how a similar area , item in a different view or like the image of the lips shows something however in a different position joined together in a collage way to show the different angles and aspects of the item of which you would not see from just one single photo. I found Multiple imagery interesting to look at as it can be considered in two different ways. I way in which I wish to display multiple imagery is shown in the images above however there is many images showing have two photos have almost been placed on top of each other to create a unique and different image. My favorite image out the selected above is the first image of the lips. I like how the center is a simple and straight ahead view with flat lips and then as you look at the other images it shows the different angle at which you would turn to look at them almost. A similar idea has been used within the image of the clock where they have the main focus of the item , the owl detail, is central.

Straight Prints- Walk Two, Journey

Straight Prints- Walk Two, Autumn Colours

Straight Prints- Walk Two, Back of Heads

Work Diary- Walk Two

Evaluation

For walk two we was set the same topics as before Autumn colours, back of heads and journey. I think that there was different aspects which went better last time and some which went better or worked better in walk two. By going on the walks it gave me the opportunity to use more interesting background withing my back of head shoots, for example the lake. I liked the fact that by going on this second walk I was able to focus on different thing compared to what I did before and capture images which turned out not so good the first time or I didn't get a chance to.

This is my best image from walk to, I really like how the image is a long landscape image unlike the rest of my photos, I done this as I found cropping out the top of the image gave it a better appearance and looked less cluttered and more precised. I like how unlike many of my other image for back of heads it doesn't have a direct angles facing head on and portrays the same idea but in a more interesting way. I think journey is also Incorporated within this image as she sits on the bench and appears to be looking out onto the lake.

I think this image could have been one of my best for walk two however where I took it of her unexpectedly, I think I zoomed in a little to far and this ruined the quality of the image. I think that the image is slightly blurry and if it was in better focus I think it could have been a very good image. I really like the positioning of the bench in the photo and the plants which surround her as well as the rustic look the bench has.

Progression

If i was to go on another walk I would like to look more up as I don't think I look around enough to see the possibilities within an area and think that the tops of tops can sometimes create unique images.

Straight Prints- Location Contrast Two

Work Diary- Location Contrast Two

Evaluation
I don't think that I had one location contrast shoot which was better then the other I think that both I ended up with some nice photos. I did however focus on more than just contrast in colour when I went out the second time.

I think that this is my best image out of the shoot. I really like the way the image is almost split in half by half the ground being filled with a puddle and half the ground not and showing the brick work. I think its interesting how there are people reflected in the puddle.

I like how this image shows a contrast of a variety of colours all mixed together also I like how there are more levees around the tree and fewer as you go out and allows you to see more of the grass.

Progression
If I was to continue with contrast I would like to try involve more people in my location contrast as I didn't do this very much. I think I would be interesting to also try and take an image which shows very little contrast however edited it to make it more interesting and portray contrast in a different way and also use the technique selective colour to maybe show contrast in an image.

Straight Prints- Studio Contrast Two

Work Diary- Studio Contrast Two

Evaluation
I found that when I went in the studio for the second time I felt as if I lacked inspiration, I think that i begin repeating photos I had taken before and had to reconsider my ideas. Once I was into the shoot however I did find take some Nice images. I liked working in the studio for contrast as it aloud me to focus on the subject of the image and not worry about the background.

I really like this image as I took it as it wasn't planned, just as I took the image they both moved and I liked the Way they both moved so in time together it created this. The main contrast in this image is the hair, its colour, length and current style. However there is also the contrast of height in this as well.

This is personally my favourite image form my shoot I like the look it and how the contrast could be seen in many different ways from the hat and no hat, the hair colour to the hair length and there height. I think that I way Connie in positioned compared to Nathan highlights the height difference between the two. However i think this image would have been better if the whole of Nathan's head was in the shoot.

Progression
If I was to use the studio for contrast again I would like to try and use object or use more props with people and see what works well and how I could portray contrast in this way.

Connecting Essay, 2

Internet photograph

This selective image involves the use of tone and depth from the formal elements to help portray this innocent and carefree attitude. The image appears to have a sepia or duo tone affect. The use of these affects and the connection to the women's appearance help to create an antique and old fashioned idea and photo. I like the way by using a strong amount of one formal element whilst eliminating the use of another, colour, it helps to display an interesting image and highlight the idea behind it. In my opinion the positing of the girls hand creates the idea that an insecurity is present within the girl. However this could be seen as her being in a very joyful situation and this being a way she expresses her emotion. The depth is created in this image throughout the positioning of the girl in the photo and blurred background. I think this creates an idea of isolation from surrounding and being in her own world. Linking to the idea of a carefree and innocent attitude, I view this in a motive way although it could be viewed in a negative way swell.

Own photograph
I took the above image in the studio as a mapplethrope influence photo it was later given the effect of black and white as this is the main style of which Mapplethorpe shoot in. The image was taken at a point of which the girl was unaware and created this very natural image reflected above. The slight show of her mouth and the postitng of her hand help to show how this is a happy expression and she is infact laughing. The dark hair on the girl help to frame the area of which is aimed to be the focal point. Whilst helping give the image some texture.

Connection of Photographs

I think these two image connect in a variety of ways due to the nature of the photos. They both are very natural and fun filled images that show innocence of life and natural beauty to others with out the subject knowing of there own inner beauty. Whilst also showing there fun loving side to life. The black and white effect portrays in both images show that colour is not always necessary in reflecting this idea. Colour is often linked to displaying the tone and emotion of the image, I feel that by having both these images in black and white it helps to show how they need no colour to portray a happy feel of the image but the facial expression and subject of the image them self create an effective enough image.

Connecting Essay, 1

Internet photograph
The following photo shows a autumn surrounding, filled with a mixture of colours.  The main formal element expressed in this image is colour however the colour helps to create contrast as well as texture. The display of different greens, dark and bright orange and yellows also help to create section and divisions within the image. Giving the image an interesting focal point whilst highlighting the sense of journey and direction. I think this image portrays a circle of life through the colour and positing of the leaves that appear to create a slight circle around the middle of the image, where depth is being introduced. I feel the contrast also helps to create this idea and depth. Also the tones used throughout this image help to create the textures of leaves and dimensions of the plants. Providing a stronger feel and connection to the nature which this image displays.

Own Photograph

This image of the path portrays a strong sense of journey. I like how in the background of the image you can see the sign post and two people on mobility scooters. I think this helps to portray direction. Although some of the colours within this image are quite dull I think they help to show the true colours which we will see in a autumn season. The shadows also involved in the image help to create this idea that it is in a secluded area. Whilst with the leaves falling off the trees creating a gap and entrance of light. I like the contrast of which these shadows and light create, I believe it helps to display an idea of change and movement through the day as the shadows will move. As well as add some extra detail to the piece.

Connection of photographs
Both images represent autumn colours and journey connecting them through the similar ideas and messages being portrayed through the image. Formal elements are strongly used and highlighted in both pieces to help create effective and interesting photos which appeal  to viewers. The path shown in both images are curved displays a sense of direction with is never straight forward and uncertainty of what is round the bend.  Finally both images use a multiple of different formal element to help create a focal point in the image whilst making the image more unique and creative.
