I like how this particular image uses shape, colour and a contrast in a variety of ways to create this which holds a strong sense of journey and development. The contrast of nature and a man made object help to show a development of time and progression. I like the how strong contrast help the sign post to stand out very effectively in the image. I think the trees line the top of the image and help to create a interesting piece instead of a piece with focus on the pure writing on the sign. I think by showing two signs and one slight one it reflects a sense of choice and decision.
I took to represent contrast within the green and red of the flowers of the image. I think it shows how nature can recreate a beauty over and over again without struggle and how we simple pass by it without acknowledging it. The distance and depth in this image help highlight how this pattern is easy to recreate for nature and often occurs. The strong colour and contrast along with the depth shows helps to display a interesting piece shows true aspects of nature.
The image was taken for the topic refection, however movement and colour is also represented in an interesting way here. The blur of colours and objects help to create this speed and motion displayed in the image. The reflection created here almost shows an overlap of two different images. Although i think this works well and helps to build on to create an interesting piece. The way in which these formal elements are used in this image I feel help to create an idea that we move in such a rush and almost as if we have no time to stop. I like how the directions of people's feet all face one way and the people almost appear to be in line and following a path. This aspect along with the dress sense and shoes suggest they are teenagers and show how they speed past one other without thinking and consideration.
Most of my Mapplethorpe images I have changed into black and white. My studying Mapplethorpe I found that most of his work was in black and white and the most popular ones definitely was. I like how I took this photo portrait although I saw little of his work in this fashion I think it works well for this image. I like how this image has a slight depth within it as well. I think the brick wall in the background made a nice change to a block colour and had a good effect on the image.
This is my favorite image out of my Mapplethorpe location as I think Mapplethorpe was able to portray great emotion In a way which wasn't to complex, I believe this image shows this. I also really like the position of the person and how the background is filled with the brick wall. I think black and white worked perfectly with this image and by changing it into this effect improved the overall look of it. I think this image can be related well to the style of Mapplethorpe and his work.
